| Kindergarten Registration As recommended by CPS, PLEASE pre-register your child as soon as possible for kindergarten (or any other grade if you are not already K-8 at Waters) if you are planning to have them attend Waters this Fall (2013-2014 school year). Stop by the school office during school hours - 8:45 to 3:45. Your pre-registration is highly recommended as Waters' administration plans for numbers in classroom enrollment. Raise Some Dough! Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Lincoln Square Homemade Pizza location on Wednesday, February 20th. We were able to raise $589 in "dough" for our school! FIELD FOUNDATION GRANTS WATERS ECOLOGY PROGRAM 15K! Waters thanks the Field Foundation of Illinois for accepting our proposal to help our growing ecology program. These funds will support additional learning opportunites as they allow students to explore monarch butterflies and our Bioswale Renovation/Wetland Project. A special thanks to parent Julie Moore, and those who helped her (Pete Leki, Megan Wade, Colleen Herman, Christine Weldon, and Terri Versace). As Mrs. Crespo pointed out Julie is one of our hidden heroes who continuously searches for ways to bring resources to our school. The countless hours that she dedicates to our school community are truly appreciated. Keep an eye out in our school garden! We are very excited! |
 Generous Global Green award a Real Possibility! (click here to VOTE!) Hopefully, you have heard the great news from our facebook group or the Green Notes, but Waters is ONE of TEN finalists in the Global Green USA's Green School Makeover Competition which means we have a chance at winning $75,000 towards a new ecology classroom. This would be fantastic news for our school, our community, and our city! SCHOOL TOURS Check back in the fall for updated tour times. BIG THANKS TO YOGURT IN THE SQUARE Thank you to everyone who came out to Yogurt Square on Friday, October 5th and ate yogurt in 45 degree weather! We were able to raise just under $500. For a fundraiser that required all of us eating cold yogurt in cold weather – we think we did awesome! Thank you again Waters community and a big thank you to Yogurt Square for working with us!  |
