Go to Ms. Vecchioni's (art teacher extraordinaire) web pages to see what
Waters students and parents have been up to!

School Performance Assessments were published at the beginning of this school year. Waters shows a steady increase
in scores since 2004. 2007-8 stats show:
Students Meeting or Exceeding State Standards in (starting in 3rd grade):
- Reading 73.2 (57.1 in 2004)
- Math 70.9 (55.2 in 2004)
- Science 80.3 (58 in 2004)
- Overall Composite 71.4 (42.7 in 2004)
Schools were ranked by 2007 Math and Reading scores and split into "Elementary Schools" including 3rd-5th grades,
and "Middle Schools" including 6th-8th grades. Waters ranked #46 out of about 450 in the city for elementary
neighborhood schools!
If you have any excess yarn and you would like to donate for a student
weaving project at Waters, PLEASE BRING IT TO THE OFFICE! The
weavings are going well and are absolutely beautiful but we are running
low on yarn. The parent ensemble is also involved in working on the weavings which will be sold on
International Day. Proceeds from items made will be donated to global charities chosen by the
students. We are looking for yarn of all types, colors, and textures.
