![]() Sunday, September 15, 1 to 3 p.m. Welles Park 2333 W. Sunnyside The Cub Scouts at Queen of Angels are starting off a new year after a fun summer of scout camps and activities. This is our 2nd year of family scouting that is inclusive of both girls and boys; in fact 15% of our Pack are girls! If you have a Kindergarten – 5th grade girl or boy interested in scouting please reach out to the Assistant Cubmaster Todd Woelfl or our girl’s den leader Rachel Abajain. All neighborhood youth are welcome to our picnic on September 15. Be sure to mention Waters at checkout! Genevieve will also match the donation to the school that raises the most, with another 10% of total proceeds raised for that school. Let's raise some money for Waters! ![]() Calling all Waters parents, visit CPS Parent U to become a qualified CPS volunteer. It's easy! Getting approved takes just 3 simple steps. However, the overall approval process takes time within CPS, so don't wait, take the first step by signing up today. Once you complete this step, you'll receive an email from CPS asking you to show your ID in the Waters school office (step 2), after that, you'll receive another email from CPS indicating that you've been approved to chaperone on field trips and volunteer at Waters (step 3). If you have any questions, please contact our volunteer team. ![]() Wednesday, September 4, 6- 7 p.m. Waters Gym You are invited to spend an hour mingling with parents and learn how to get involved in your children's educational experience. WatersToday board members, parent volunteers and administration will be on hand to answer questions about the fun activities we have planned for the year. Meet the event chair and volunteers from a variety of events including Pledge Drive, Big Night, Walk a Thon, Craft Fair, Waters Community Garden, Art Program and more. Lists came out at the end of July, and many of us have been out shopping already. With no bulk supply program to help us collect for Waters families in need this year, the Circle of Help put together a list of supply kits needed by grade. Please sign up on this Google doc, purchase, box up and label your supply kit with the relevant grade, and bring to the Waters office on Teacher Meet & Greet Day on Friday, August 30, 8:15-8:45 a.m. Thank you for your help – you will ease a lot of back-to-school stress for families in need. Submissions Items will be posted online as soon as possible during the week – usually within 24 to 48 hours. To be included in the WatersToday Wire biweekly email published on alternating Thursdays during the school year, please complete the submission form by midnight the prior Sunday.
