A Note of Gratitude from WatersToday

11/26/2019

Picture
Did you know WatersToday is working hard to raise funds for Waters Elementary all year long? While our major events are the Pledge Drive, Maker Fair, Big Night and Wildcat Walkathon, we also support and organize volunteer opportunities and communications efforts.

WatersToday recently revamped and re-energized its Business Sponsorship committee. The group has expanded to include seven parent volunteer members (and there is always room to join if you are interested!). We actively cultivate business sponsorships and are so thankful for the support from our community. WatersToday is pleased to promote its sponsors, many of which are Waters family owned or managed businesses. For example, Gold Level sponsors ($1,000 to $1,999) get to send a flyer home in student folders and get a shout out in Green Notes. I invite you to peruse all the options for sponsorship with WatersToday.

We are so thankful for our business partnerships and for the continued support from the Waters community. Donations to WatersToday allow the Waters Elementary Local School Council to allocate for things like lunch and recess supervision, fine arts education support, coach stipends, teacher/classroom requests for materials and supplies, and Waters’ one-of-a-kind ecology program.

Keep reading the Green Notes weekly email and checking the Waters Elementary and WatersToday websites for the most up-to-date information.

We are thankful to be a part of this engaged and supportive community. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday.

Sincerely,
Jessie Novak & Kortney Moore

Maker Fair favorite The Cake Walk is back!

11/18/2019

Picture
If you've played before, you know how awesome it is. If not, the game is simple: Buy a ticket, then walk around in a circle with your fellow cake walkers and wait for the music to stop. If the number you're standing on is called, you've won a cake! But in order for this fun event to happen, we need donations! All cakes and cupcakes (one dozen count as one cake) are welcome, and if you don't like to bake there's no shame in buying. Please email Serena Hess if you plan on contributing something sweet, then deliver your creation to the Cake Walk table (in the first floor hallway) on a disposable plate to the Maker Fair by 10AM on Saturday December 7.

We always need volunteers to work the Cake Walk table during the Maker Fair.  Sign up here!

Happy baking (or shopping)!

Thank You Volunteers!

11/12/2019

We have had a busy (and chilly) fall and we couldn't have done it without so many dedicated volunteers.  Thanks to all the parents and friends who helped with the Pledge Drive, the Pledge Drive party, and Harvest Day!  You make our school community vibrant for so many students and families.
